Global Ages modifiers are various country modifiers, which apply to every country, based on the Age the game is in; they exist in Extended Timeline to simulate the differences between the various historical eras.

The transition from one Global Age modifier to the next will not happen until the the first day of the month following the apparition of a new Age (i.e. if you reach Late Classical Age on the 14th of July, you will keep the Classical Age Global Age modifier until the 1st of Augustus; on the 1st of Augustus the Classical Age Global Age modifier will disappear and the new Global Age modifier will be Late Classical Age).
