General Information[]
Hesse, at its start, is a Catholic Rhenish feudal monarchy of the HRE located in the Hesse area, North Germany region of the Western Europe subcontinent. Gaining cores on November 10, 911, the monarchy emerges from Catholic Thuringia in 1264 bordering fellow Catholic Trier and Cleves west, Mainz, Frankfurt and Wurzburg south, Thuringia east and Brunswick and Cologne north.
Hesse will be annexed into Protestant Westphalia on July 9, 1807 and leaves the HRE when it dissolves on July 12, 1806. The monarchy will break from Westphalia by October 13, 1813, finally annexed into Protestant Prussia on September 20, 1866, loses cores by 1900 and never appears on-map again.
