General Information[]
Silves is a Sunni Andalusian iqta located in the Alentejo area, Iberia region, of the Western Europe subcontinent; arising during the 'Holy Roman Empire' era. Emerging, gaining cores, from Sunni Seville in 1040 the iqta borders fellow Sunni countries ( Badajoz north and Saltes east), waters of the Gulf of Cádiz (North Atlantic area and region) west and the waters of the Straits of Gibraltar (Western Mediterranean area, Mediterranean region) southeast.
Silves will be re-annexed by Seville in 1063, released from Sunni Morocco, gaining cores, in 1145 and finally annexed by Morocco in 1151. The country keeping its cores til 1249.
