General Information[]
Tunisia, at its start, is a Sunni Tunisian iqta located in the northeastern areas of the Maghreb region in the Africa continent. The iqta breaks from the Sunni Umayyad caliphate in 745, with cores, bordering fellow Sunni Aures southwest and Umayyad east, Fetishist Fezzan southeast and Mzab west, Khawarij Tlemcen west, uncolonized native land south and waters of the Mediterranean north.
Tunisia will be annexed by the Sunni Abbasid caliphate on June 1, 757, break from Abbasid control in 800, get integrated into the Shia Fatimid caliphate in 909, break from the Fatimids as their vassal in 973, become annexed by Sunni Kabylia in 1128, de-annex from Sunni Morocco in 1187 and is re-annexed by Morocco in 1212.
By 1229, Tunisia will break away from Morocco again, be annexed by Sunni Algeria in 1574, de-annex lands from Sunni Tripoli and Algeria in 1593 and is on-map to the present day.
